The Myles Reif Performing Arts Center.  It is a place that has been home to countless superb performances, and moments that will remain forever in one's memory.  It is the gem of Northern Minnesota...and beyond.

From Garrison Keillor, or the Guthrie Theatre On Tour, to a student performing for the first time ever in a school theatrical play...From the internationally recognized Royal Winnipeg Ballet, to a five-year old child in her very first Reif Dance Company production...From Grammy Award winning performers such as Christopher Cross and Ladysmith Black Mambazo to the Grand Rapids High School Band, performing the finale at a Dallas Brass Concert.

Believe it or not, these experiences and precious opportunities would not have been possible without the enduring support and generosity of those who support the Reif Center through the Annual Fund.

Yes, there is revenue from ticket sales, corporate grants, and from special gifts; however the Annual Fund Drive is the very foundation of the Reif Center's existence.  The impact of the support from our contributors to the Annual Fund is visible everyday and witnessed at each event and performance the graces the stage of the Reif.

Endowment Fund

What is the Reif Center Endowment
The Reif Center Endowment is a permanent fund to support and further the misison of the Reif Arts Council.  The endowment is maintained in perpetuity and only the earnings on the investments may be used.

Is my donation ever "used up"?
No.  In an endowment, your gift is invested and only the earnings are used.  Your original gift will continue to grow while the income it generates is used for current needs.  The original endowment is never touched.

How are the Reif Endowment funds used?
All gifts to the Reif Center Endowment are permanently invested.  The Reif Arts Council board may reinvest earnings in the Endowment or use them immediately to support and further the mission of the Reif Arts Council.  One way earnings are now used is to award scholarships for dance students who would not other wise be able to participate.

Does this contribution replace the Reif Annual Fund?
No.  The Annual Fund is an important part of our annual financial plan.  We rely on annual contributions for nearly 10% of the Reif Arts Council budget each year.  The Reif Center Endowment is a long-term fund that cannon be used to meet current needs.  It's intended to secure the future of the Reif Center.

What are some donation options?
Endowments gifts can come in many forms:

-gifts of cash
-making a bequest to the Reif Center Endowment in your will
-donating securities (stocks and bonds)
-creating an irrevocable trust
-donating real estate, artwork or other property
-setting up a gift annuity

Donors can receive annual payments back from trusts and annuities while receiving the tax benefits now.  Contact the Reif Center or your financial advisor for advice on giving options and how they can work into your overall financial plan.
