Always...Patsy
Cline is more than a tribute to the legendary country singer
who died tragically at age 30 in a 1963 plane crash. The
show is based on a true story about Cline’s friendship with
a fan from Houston named Louise Seger, who befriended the
star in a Texas honky-tonk in l961, and continued a
correspondence with Cline until her death.
This performance is an artistic
collaboration with the Grand Rapids
Players, and will be brought
to life by local talents Kathy Goodwin as Patsy Cline and
Mary Jo Jess as Louise Seger. |

His
talents are literally endless. His voice is still the
best there is. Never missing a note, he amazes the
producers he sings for every time, and amazes his fans show
after show. Blazing on the scene in the early 1990s
Hal struck radio gold with his first single Small Town
Saturday Night which shot to number one on the Country
charts. This award winning singer-songwriter and Grand Ole
Opry member is proving that he can still dazzle faithful
fans as well as draw many new ones. |

1948, KBZY radio signed on for the first time – just down
the block from the Reif Center in Grand Rapids. On Tuesday
January 29th 2008, we’ll celebrate 60 years of broadcasting
with a very special evening. Stroll with us down memory
lane, a lane filled with voices and memories from the past.
The Curbfeelers will
provide a little music until the headliners take over.
Minnesota’s first chart topping
group, The Trashmen will reunite for this special
performance. As near as anyone can remember, they haven’t
played in Grand Rapids since 1964 at the Armory. And we’ve
got some surprises planned, too. Here’s a hint…Tuesday
is Prizeday on KOZY.
Don’t miss this once in a lifetime evening, KOZY’s 60th

Although not an immediate fan of Elvis, as Travis got to
know more about the man and his music, he came to understand
why Elvis was dubbed and will forever be known as The King
of Rock ‘n Roll. It’s with the utmost admiration and respect
for Elvis that Travis LeDoyt offers his tribute to the man
who shaped a generation. The reincarnation witnessed through
his dynamic show is truly spectacular and the next best
thing for those who never saw The King.

Defending the Caveman is the longest running solo play
in Broadway history. The wildly
popular comedy, written by Rob Becker, has become a
peacemaker in the ongoing misunderstandings between men and
women. Caveman is a hilariously insightful play about the
ways men and women relate that has both sexes roaring with
laughter and recognition. In the audience, affectionate
nudging goes on during the performance and couples are often
seen strolling into the night holding hands! |

The American
Piano Show is an exciting musical concert starring
world-renowned pianist and entertainer Linda Gentille. The
show features music of American composers such as George
Gershwin, Irving Berlin, Leonard Bernstein, Hogie
Carmichael, and Rogers & Hammerstein.
Linda is a
former child protégé of the great Liberace, and her piano
style and stage comedy are very reminiscent of Mr.
Showmanship himself. Liberace said of Linda, “she’s a true
piano virtuoso who plays as beautifully as she looks!” |

He may be a
legend, but while Doyle Lawson takes pride in a career at
the center of Bluegrass and Bluegrass Gospel for the past 40
years, he’s hardly resting on his laurels. Lawson
established Quicksilver in 1979, and quickly moved to the
forefront of the Bluegrass scene with a sound that blended
traditional elements with progressive material and superb
execution.
Admired, respected and beloved by
Gospel enthusiasts, long-time Bluegrass followers and a
growing number of newly-acquired fans from across the
musical spectrum, Doyle Lawson and Quicksilver have truly
become a Bluegrass band for all ages.

It is our sad
duty to inform you that Dan Seals is quite ill and
will not be able to perform the concert we had scheduled
with his brother Jim at the Reif Center on May 2.
Dan has been in treatment for a form of lymphoma, and
was recovering well until a recent and unexpected
relapse. He is again on the mend, but his delicate
health condition at this time will not permit him to
take on the rigors of road travel. He is very
disappointed and hopes to re-schedule the Seals and
Seals concert for a later date when his health permits.
We agree about rescheduling, and wish him speedy
recovery.
Meanwhile, fellow musician and friend B.J. Thomas
has agreed to perform the concert at the Reif Center on
May 2 instead. If you have tickets for
Seals and Seals and want to see B. J. Thomas you don't
need to do anything, just use your tickets for Seals and
Seals that evening. If you want a refund or a
voucher for another performance please contact the Reif
Center Box office, 218-327-5780. |

With over
70 million records sold, BJ’s vocal versatility is as apparent
today as it was when he recorded his first hit in 1967, “I’m
So Lonesome I Could Cry”.
Since the
mid-1960s, BJ Thomas has become one of the most recognized and
respected voices of the American musical landscape. He has
impacted many areas of popular music with 15 Top 40 pop hits, 10
Top 40 country hits, 5 Grammys, 2 Dove awards and 15 Gold and
Platinum Records. He is the only artist to successfully move to
the top of three music genres not as a crossover and also have
crossover success.
His first
three hits were The Eyes Of a New York Woman, Hooked on a
Feeling and It’s Only Love. Followed by Raindrops
Keep Falling On My Head. Label mate Dionne Warwick, who’d
been working with the Burt Bacharach/Hal David songwriting team,
recommended BJ for Raindrops Keep Falling on my Head
which was written for the motion picture Butch Cassidy &
the Sundance Kid. |

All it takes
for a popular regional act to catapult into the national
spotlight is one special song. Suddenly
home-town-heroes find themselves climbing the charts and
enjoying that first brush of stardom. For Alabama
based Heartland, the song was I Loved Her First
- one of the fastest rising Country music singles in 2006.
Collectively,
Heartland encompasses a variety of musical influences
from Johnny Cash, to the Beach Boys and AC/DC. Each
band member grew up absorbing a rather diverse musical diet
and those varied influences have helped shape the
full-bodied, robust sound that defines Heartland's musical
persona.
